Carnival ends.... Day 5

Well!!! The fest is over.
Last day of Techtatva-12th September 2009.( Could not write on 12th due to net connection issue) A closing ceremony I would remember all my life. A DJ night after that..I won't dance so long any time soon. This Techtatva has been able to maintain the legacy. An impulse of Joy for the college.
Talking about Aavishkaar, the 2nd phase of the model display was over on this day. The results were announced at Closing Ceremony. Team 215 and 214 stood 1st and 2nd respectively. Mr. Varun Bhaskar's Dad was the Chief Guest for the closing in ceremony. He announced the name of the winners.
All the speeches were good;especially Mr. Varun's and his Dad's but the address which stole the show was that of Mr. Animesh Thakur. Words filled with wit and utter sense of humour came out spontaneously. He was in best of his forms.
Will write in detail some other time.. for now.. thank you Student Council for all your support, thank you Team Aavishkaar for making the event one of the most successful events of Techtatva'09.
We hope we lived upto every one's expectation.

11th Sept.

This Day in history holds an important place......

11th Sept. 1893: The greatest ambassador India ever had: Swami Vivekananda marked his presence before the world. He had his first speech at World's Parliament of Religions which shook the world thereafter.

11th Sept. 2001: The greatest attack on humanity. World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks. Hundreds of lives lost.. how can we forget..??

Day 4: The BIG Day for Aavishkaar...

The BIG Day for Aavishkaar... Model display round... Teams and their models were put to
extreme tests with Judges questioning the very basics of Students. ....and yes.. to add to their awe.... the general visitors asked questions with more severity than the Judges.
In all, there were 6 teams with the models of bridge and yes all of them worked... I told you Judges are going to have a tough time... Floating one, Double Decker, Arch Design....London bridge.. there were all.... Teams had their demonstrations but I was having goosebumps instead of them.
Aavishkaar was the Saviour of the day for Techtatva. Almost all the events are into their 2nd or 3rd rounds now.. So, it was Aavishkaar which could pull off the crowd and maintain the hustle bustle of Techtatva. The flagship event has already got 4 stars of 5 from the Ed-Board of MIT..
Have just arrived at my room after giving an interview to the Ed-Board. Team Aavishkaar had an interview with Ed Board.
The next part of final round is tomorrow. Next half teams will be displaying their models tomorrow. Hoping for some scintillating experience...
Apart from Aavishkaar.. today, there was another big event--Junkyard Wars.. This was the first time, I could not participate in it.. Can anybody give an update about it. How was the turn up and what was the problem statement??

Apart from this, what I could see were some deserted infodesks, relaxing organizers, and Techtatva turning into a semi-Music Festival... (Did you ask why?) Playing songs at a volume where wannabe DJs could not even listen what they (themselves) were thinking.. Can You Ask For More???

Good Night Bhai Log...Kal dekhte hain...

Day 3

Tired like hell..... Hi Everyone .I am back to the comforts of my room. The day started off early. Went to college at around 11.45 AM.Aaviskaar had an off day ..... wait wait wait!!!!! It was only for the participating teams ..we, the organizers had one of the most consumed days.
Final Showdown--tomorrow... Preparations were done in NLH-104 today. We wanted to make sure everything go as planned. The teams have been messaged and mailed intimating their time for MODEL DISPLAY round.

Another poster has gone in print. Designed by Tanay. I am really lucky on Organizers aspect. The whole team is very dedicated.. Lets see, what happens tomorrow. Wish me all the best..
The coordinators had dance session on 90s songs played by the organizers at NLH outdoors near Informals Desk including Abhijeet Bhaiya and Shreyas Bhaiya. All had fun watching them.
They had fun..........but I am TIRED ... I m dead...err!!! goin to be dead!!! Good Night

The 2nd Day...

Hi Everyone..

It would not be a hyperbole if I say that the 2nd day was much more thrilling and happening than the 1st day.
The enthusiasm of the organizers was on display throughout the day. Whole Techtatva team is working as if there is no tomorrow. Meanwhile I have some "Who-Is-Who" pics of Day 1 and 2 which I shall upload soon.
The 1st version of Text Tatva is out today. Very good creativity skills. Kudos to the whole Ed-Board.
Talking about Aavishkaar, 2nd day saw some special and unique designs. The presentation skills had a tough time dealing with the Questions by the Judges and the students. We finished the 2nd round on Day 2 with last 16 getting over with their presentation. The real test comes on 11th where models will be displayed, criticized, applauded, heckled and the wildness of the Royal Rumble shall come out with all its colors. All are invited to experience the phenomenon.

Now talking about some people in the Team Techtatva-- Animesh Thakur(Tech Sec n chairman f Techtatva)-4th year guy. Procured placements well before Techtatva. You can see his moods swinging all day long. :) Our lunch on 1st day was sponsored by him. A real 'thinking right from the heart'kind of person. To his credit, he can come with a volunteer and work with him as well. Never seen a Tech-Sec lifting chairs and helping staffs to set up speakers boxes. You are going great Sir jee...

Varun Bhaskar: I have been working in Techtatva team from the very 1st year of my inception in MIT. Right from volunteering to being the category head of Aavishkaar today, I have never seen such an involvement of the President of Student Council in Techtatva or Revels.Off late, the President had become just a hand for signatures on the certificates. But this time around, this has been redefined and the President, Mr. Varun Bhaskar(4th yr-Chemical), is one of the main pillars of TechTatva. Yeah.. you got it right.. he brought the sponsorship from MRPL..

More about others, in the next post.. I have to start gearing for the 3rd day. Till then wait... n watch...

The 1st Day ...

The day finally arrived and about to go. It was the first day of TechTatva and the participation has been beyond expectations till now. Record 2000 registrations on the first day itself has taken all the organizers by surprise.

The first phase of 2nd round is over for Aavishkaar. 32 teams have moved to the 2nd round out of which 16 had their presentation on the first day. The next 16 will fight it out 2moro ,i.e the 2nd day of TechTatva.
There were many outstanding ideas and I am sure the Judges are going to have a tough time judging them. The competition gets tougher on the model presentation day. Everything started off as per schedule and we were able to finish before time.
It was pure display of sheer talent and potential of the Engineering Students of India.
The Q-A session was enlightening as well as the teams tried their best to choke out the opponents.
We are hoping a wilder fight on the 2nd day. Lets see who survives and who falls.....

In My next post..i m gonna tell u ppl abt our collg. MIT.

Till then hav fun.. ;)

Taste of Success

Indeed!!!

The taste of success is the sweetest of all. To tell u all, we have got overwhelming response from the students of MIT. We have got a record number of entries for the prelims considering the complexity of the problem statement of Aavishkaar.

The credit goes to all my organisers and the Event Head who left no stone unturned to ensure the success of this event. Moreover, things have become better in the team. Tanay is more mature now in terms of thought and decision making n is trying his best to live up to my expectations.

The real work starts now. Sitting in the Group Study Hall right now. If things go as per our plan, results of abstract round will be out by evening.

Fingers crossed.
